The Pentagon's Munitions Acceleration Council identified 14 critical weapon systems for a major production ramp-up. Fiscal 2027 budget documents released today outline the expansion plan. The initiative targets legacy systems including PAC-3, THAAD, SM-6, Tomahawk, AMRAAM, and JASSM missiles.

The plan aims to replenish U.S. stockpiles depleted by recent military operations against Iran. Production increases also prepare the military for potential large-scale conflicts.

The U.S. Air Force plans to acquire nearly 4,300 additional AGM-158 JASSM missiles from Lockheed Martin. The FY27 budget proposes $70.5 billion for missile procurement. This request represents a 188% increase over the previous year.

The move provides a substantial catalyst for the aerospace and defense sector. Major manufacturers expect sustained, high-volume orders for several years.
