Raytheon, an RTX business, secured a contract from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries to provide SeaRAM self-defense systems for the Royal Australian Navy. The agreement supports Australia’s Sea3000 program to replace Anzac-class frigates with 11 new Upgraded Mogami-class ships.

This initial contract covers defense systems for the first three frigates in the fleet. The SeaRAM system integrates Phalanx Close-In Weapon System and Rolling Airframe Missile capabilities to counter anti-ship missiles and airborne threats.

The deal represents Australia’s first procurement of the SeaRAM technology. Production will take place in Louisville, Kentucky, with deliveries scheduled to begin in late 2028.
