Chinese technology company Xiaomi has open-sourced two new large language models, MiMo-V2.5 and MiMo-V2.5-Pro, under the permissive MIT License. This allows developers and enterprises to freely use and modify the models for commercial applications. The models are now available for download from the AI community platform Hugging Face.
The models are designed to be highly efficient for agentic "claw" tasks, where an AI agent completes complex, multi-step goals on behalf of a user, such as content creation or scheduling. According to Xiaomi's benchmarks, the 'Pro' version leads the open-source field in these tasks with a 63.8% success rate while being highly token-efficient, which translates to lower operational costs for users.
