Micron Technology will invest up to $3 billion to strengthen the U.S. semiconductor supply chain. This initiative secures domestic materials for advanced memory and storage solutions required for artificial intelligence.

Micron is providing $500 million in strategic financing to GlobalWafers. The funding supports the development of a 300mm raw silicon wafer facility in Sherman, Texas.

The companies signed a 10-year agreement to ensure Micron's access to U.S.-made silicon wafers. This direct investment aims to reduce global supply chain vulnerabilities and enhance long-term planning flexibility.
