Amazon and the United States Postal Service (USPS) finalized a new delivery agreement following tense negotiations. The USPS will continue handling approximately 80% of its current Amazon package volume. This volume exceeds one billion packages annually.
An Amazon spokesperson confirmed the deal provides stability for the company’s last-mile delivery operations. The agreement follows UPS’s decision to reduce shipping volume for the e-commerce giant. Amazon is simultaneously expanding its independent rural delivery network.
The contract secures a critical portion of Amazon's logistics chain to ensure nationwide delivery capabilities. The Postal Regulatory Commission must still approve the agreement.
