Tesla is recalling 218,868 Model 3, Model Y, Model S, and Model X vehicles in the United States. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reported that rearview camera images can be delayed when the vehicles are put in reverse.

This defect increases the risk of a crash and fails to meet federal safety standards. The issue specifically affects vehicles running a certain software version.

Tesla will address the recall through a free over-the-air (OTA) software update. Owners are not required to visit a service center for physical repairs.
