Xos Inc. secured its first contract with the U.S. Air Force, marking the company’s official entry into the defense market. The agreement covers a prototype for a ruggedized, deployable mobile charging solution for electric vehicles and support equipment.

The Air Force Global Strike Command Rapid Capabilities Division 2026 Showcase granted the award. Xos will adapt its existing Xos Hub™ mobile battery energy storage system for military field applications.

The system provides high-capacity, grid-independent charging without requiring permanent infrastructure. Xos will assemble the units at its Byrdstown, Tennessee facility. The performance period for the contract extends into late 2027.
