SK Hynix resumed construction at its Yongin chip plant following a week-long labor dispute.

South Korean concrete mixer truck drivers began the strike on June 9 to demand higher transport fees. The industrial action suspended concrete deliveries across the Seoul metropolitan area. The stoppage also impacted Samsung’s major semiconductor construction site in Pyeongtaek.

Union members officially ended the strike on June 15 after voting to accept new transport rates. SK Hynix expects limited long-term impact by adjusting its construction sequence.
