Samsung Electronics is conducting emergency repairs on Bespoke AI 4-Door refrigerators across South Korea. A software update distributed on September 22 caused the appliances to stop cooling and become unresponsive. Affected units remain stuck on an updating status message.
The malfunction occurred one day before the Chuseok holiday, a peak period for food storage. Samsung confirmed that internal test software was incorrectly sent to customers. The company has since halted the update's deployment.
An emergency response team is providing on-site service throughout the holiday period. Samsung aims to complete all repairs by September 24. The company will cover all repair costs and is evaluating compensation for spoiled food.
