Tesla plans to build a $10.1 billion solar cell factory near Richmond, Texas.
The facility, dubbed Project Crystal Sun, aims to deepen the company's vertical integration for solar products.
Production will encompass the entire process from ingot and wafer manufacturing to automated cell testing.
Construction is scheduled to run from 2026 through 2028.
Commercial operations are expected to begin in the first quarter of 2029.
The project is forecasted to create over 9,700 permanent jobs once fully operational.
