Toyota Motor North America faces a new class-action lawsuit filed in California. The suit demands that the automaker pass IEEPA tariff refunds to customers who paid inflated vehicle prices.

The complaint alleges Toyota absorbed approximately $9.7 billion in tariff-related costs for production and parts from Japan, Canada, and Mexico. Toyota has not publicly stated how it will manage potential government refunds for these expenses.

The legal action seeks to determine if consumers were overcharged specifically due to these tariffs. It argues that buyers are entitled to a share of any subsequent rebates the company receives.
