Apple has officially approved 'Poke,' a third-party AI service, for use within its Messages app, making it the first AI agent available on the platform. The integration works through Apple's existing Messages for Business framework, allowing users to interact with the AI to perform tasks directly within their iMessage conversations.

Poke is designed to act as a personal assistant that connects to a user's email, calendar, and other accounts to proactively handle tasks like scheduling meetings, paying invoices, and booking travel through simple text commands. The startup behind the agent, The Interaction Company, aims to reduce the need for users to switch between multiple apps by centralizing tasks within the native messaging interface.
