Apple is preparing to launch its first foldable iPhone in 2026. The company instructed suppliers to produce approximately 10 million units for the debut. This figure represents an increase from previous estimates of 7 to 8 million units.

Apple plans to release at least five new iPhone models between late 2026 and early 2027. The total production target for these upcoming models is 80 million units. Counterpoint Research predicts the foldable device will capture 29% of all foldable display orders in its first year.

Mass production is scheduled to begin in late July 2026. Apple expects to launch the new lineup in September 2026.
