Apple postponed its AI-powered smart glasses launch to late 2027. This shift represents a delay of nearly one year from the original early 2027 target.

The company delayed the release because underlying visual AI technology failed to meet internal standards. Apple aims to avoid launching a product that consumers might find unappealing.

The smart glasses will compete with Meta’s Ray-Ban line and serve as a hardware platform for Apple Intelligence. A lighter, more affordable mixed-reality headset nicknamed Vision Air is now scheduled for 2029.
