Apple reportedly delayed the launch of its iPhone-connected smart glasses until late 2027. The company aims to disrupt the mid-tier eyewear industry rather than the niche tech market. This strategy mirrors the previous rollout of the Apple Watch.
Apple is targeting the $200 to $500 price range for the new device. This positioning places Apple in direct competition with fashion brands like Ray-Ban and Oakley. The move challenges Meta, which currently maintains a presence in the smart glasses market.
The device will function as a lightweight iPhone accessory instead of a full augmented reality headset like the Vision Pro. It will feature integrated cameras, speakers, and deep integration with an AI-powered Siri. These components will enable users to perform various hands-free tasks.
