Apple is holding exploratory talks with Intel and Samsung Electronics to produce its main device processors within the United States. This potential strategic shift aims to reduce the company's reliance on longtime partner Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC).
Early-stage discussions with Intel focus on utilizing its specialized chipmaking services. Apple executives also recently visited a new Samsung manufacturing facility currently under development in Texas.
These negotiations remain in the preliminary stages. No final decisions have been announced and Apple has not yet placed any production orders.
