Apple is planning the most significant overhaul to its iPhone release strategy in over a decade, reportedly starting in 2026. The company intends to move away from its traditional single launch event in the fall, which has been the standard for more than ten years. Under the new plan, high-end models, including the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and a new foldable iPhone, will debut in the fall of 2026. The standard iPhone 18 and other potential models like an iPhone 18e would then be released approximately six months later in the spring of 2027. This new release cadence is expected to become a repeating pattern for future launches. This strategic shift aims to distribute revenue more evenly throughout the year, alleviate intense pressure on engineering and supply chain teams, and allow Apple to respond more nimbly to competitor launches from companies like Samsung.
