Apple announced macOS 27, named Golden Gate, at its Worldwide Developers Conference keynote. The update refines the Liquid Glass design language to improve visual consistency across the operating system. New user controls allow for the adjustment of visual effect intensity.
The system introduces a fixed corner radius for all application and system windows to create a unified look. Apple emphasized under-the-hood performance and stability enhancements similar to the Snow Leopard release.
macOS Golden Gate will be the first version to exclusively support Apple silicon Macs. This transition officially ends support for all Intel-based models.
