Apple and Huawei were the only major smartphone brands to grow in China during the second quarter. The overall Chinese smartphone market shrank by 4.3% during this period, according to IDC data.
Apple shipments surged approximately 25% year-over-year. Huawei shipments grew by about 20% compared to the same period last year.
Huawei captured the top market position with a 22.6% share. Apple secured second place with an 18.1% market share.
Both companies maintained stable pricing while competitors raised prices due to higher component and memory costs. This price stability shifted consumer demand toward high-end offerings from Apple and Huawei.
