Apple postponed its smart glasses launch from 2026 to 2027. The company now expects to unveil the device at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June 2027.

Development teams are focusing on hardware and software privacy protections to differentiate the product from Meta. Proposed safeguards include limiting camera functionality to prevent photo or video recording.

The device will utilize on-device AI and will not use customer recordings for AI training. These strategic shifts aim to address growing consumer concerns regarding wearable cameras.
