Airbus secured a €3 billion financing package from the European Investment Bank (EIB). This represents the largest corporate loan ever granted by the EU's lending arm.
The company signed the first €1 billion portion of the deal. Airbus finalized this initial agreement on June 29, 2026.
The funding supports long-term research and development initiatives through 2030. These investments target advanced technologies in the aerospace sector, including commercial aviation, security, and defense.
Airbus will distribute the capital across its core operations in France, Germany, and Spain. The package aims to reinforce technological sovereignty and competitiveness against rivals in the United States and China.
