Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) disclosed a stake in SpaceX. The stake totals approximately 3.3 million shares. It is valued at around $566 million. Regulatory filings revealed the position following SpaceX's initial public offering in June 2026.

The disclosure follows a statement from Elon Musk. Musk stated SpaceX will build its artificial intelligence infrastructure exclusively using chips from AMD's primary competitor, Nvidia. This suggests AMD's investment is a financial bet on SpaceX's overall growth. It is not a strategic partnership aimed at securing chip orders.

Analysts note the investment allows AMD to gain exposure to SpaceX's non-AI businesses. These include the Starlink satellite internet service. AMD's stake is significantly smaller than Nvidia's. Nvidia's investment exceeds $17 billion. Nvidia's investment aims to secure a major AI customer.
