Britain's Competition Appeal Tribunal revived a consumer lawsuit against Amazon and Apple. The lawsuit alleges a 2018 agreement between the companies illegally restricted third-party sellers of Apple and Beats products on Amazon's UK marketplace. This action led to reduced competition and higher prices for consumers.

The tribunal ruled claims related to purchases on Amazon's marketplace were "plausible, credible and grounded in the facts." These claims will now proceed. This portion of the class-action suit could seek damages between £289 million and £306 million. The tribunal dismissed broader claims that the agreement inflated prices at other retailers, calling that theory too speculative.

The tribunal revived this legal action after rejecting a similar case in 2025. Concerns over the class representative and funding arrangements prompted the earlier rejection. A new representative, Justin Le Patourel, now leads the claim.
