Amazon Web Services (AWS) is planning to launch a marketplace where publishers can sell content to companies developing artificial intelligence products. The Information reported the initiative based on internal slides circulated ahead of a Tuesday conference.
The marketplace will be integrated with core AWS AI offerings, including the Bedrock foundation model service. This move positions Amazon in direct competition with Microsoft, which recently announced its own Publisher Content Marketplace.
The initiative arrives as the technology sector faces increasing pressure from publishers to establish usage-based fees for AI training data. Amazon has not officially commented on the report.
