Amazon is expanding its Amazon Now service to deliver groceries and household essentials in 30 minutes or less.
The service is currently available in Atlanta, Dallas-Fort Worth, Philadelphia, and Seattle. Amazon expects to launch in Austin, Denver, Houston, and additional markets by the end of the year.
Local fulfillment hubs and the Amazon Flex driver network facilitate the delivery of thousands of items. This move increases competition with rivals including Walmart, DoorDash, and Uber.
Prime members pay $3.99 per delivery. Non-members pay $13.99 per delivery. Small orders are subject to additional fees.
