Amazon is expanding its Amazon Now ultra-fast delivery service to 100 Indian cities. The service previously operated in only three major urban areas.
The company will build over 1,000 micro-fulfillment centers to enable deliveries within minutes. This expansion involves an investment of over ₹2,800 crore, or approximately $300 million.
The move intensifies competition with local quick commerce players Blinkit, Swiggy’s Instamart, and Zepto. Amazon will also integrate over 16,000 farmers into its supply chain to sell fresh produce directly to consumers.
