Amazon CEO Andy Jassy announced the expansion of the Amazon Now quick-commerce service to more than 300 Indian cities and towns. The initiative aims to create the country's largest delivery in minutes network for groceries and daily essentials. This represents a significant increase from the 15 cities currently served.

Jassy shared the plans during his first visit to India as CEO. He is also scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The expansion intensifies competition with Walmart-owned Flipkart, Blinkit, and Zepto. Amazon Now is currently the company's fastest-growing business unit in India. Order volumes for the service have doubled every quarter since its launch.
