The Television Academy has signed a six-year agreement with Amazon, making Prime Video the exclusive global home of the Emmy Awards starting in 2027. The deal ends the ceremony’s longstanding rotation among the four major U.S. broadcast networks: ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC.

The annual event will stream free in more than 240 countries and territories. Viewers will not need an Amazon Prime subscription to watch.

The financial terms were not disclosed. The agreement gives Amazon a larger role in live event programming and aims to expand the Television Academy’s global reach as the media landscape changes.
