Amazon is expanding its same-day prescription delivery service to 4,500 U.S. cities and towns by the end of 2026. This initiative adds nearly 2,000 new communities to the company's rapid delivery network.
Service will extend to states including Idaho and Massachusetts for the first time. Amazon intends the expansion to address medication access challenges caused by pharmacy closures and transportation barriers.
The company utilizes its logistics network, including electric vehicles and ferries, to facilitate direct-to-door delivery. Medications will often reach customers within hours of a prescription order.
