Amazon is raising the minimum hourly pay for its full-time U.S. operations workers by $1. The new minimum wage is $20 per hour. Average pay for these roles will approach $24 per hour. Total average compensation will exceed $32 per hour when including benefits. The company is investing more than $1.5 billion in this pay increase. This represents a 17% rise in minimum starting pay over the last three years.
Amazon is also introducing the Day 1 Financial program. Qualified employees and their families gain lifetime access to banking services through First Tech Federal Credit Union. Starting October 1, 2026, all U.S. employees will be eligible for grocery discounts. This includes a 10% discount on Amazon.com and Whole Foods online orders. In-store purchases at Whole Foods Market will receive a 20% discount.
