Amazon increased its planned investment in northwest Louisiana from $12 billion to $18 billion on Tuesday. The expansion includes the development of a third data center campus in Shreveport. This project is expected to create hundreds of full-time jobs and support thousands of additional regional positions.
Amazon will also invest up to $400 million in public water infrastructure. The company will cover all costs for energy infrastructure and grid upgrades required for the facilities. Amazon has invested more than $6 billion in the state since 2010. The move underscores the continued expansion of the company's cloud computing infrastructure.
