Amazon secured approval from the UK's Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to begin same-day drone parcel deliveries. This move significantly advances the company’s logistics network in the United Kingdom.
Initial operations will center on Darlington in County Durham, Northeast England. The company plans to launch airborne deliveries from a local warehouse in the area.
Amazon intends to operate up to 10 flights per hour. The service schedule runs 12 hours a day, seven days a week. This system aims to deliver packages to customer homes in under two hours from the time of order.
