Amazon Web Services (AWS) secured final planning permission from An Coimisiún Pleanála to construct three new data center buildings in North Dublin. The facilities will occupy a 65-acre site in Mulhuddart and feature a combined power load of 73MW.

The approval concludes a three-year process since the initial plans were filed. This decision follows an appeal of a previous grant issued by the local council in September 2023.

The project includes a mandatory condition requiring the developer to execute a corporate power purchase agreement (CPPA) with a renewable energy provider. This agreement ensures that new renewable energy generation equals or exceeds the electricity consumed by the energy-intensive data centers, addressing potential climate impacts.
