Amazon.com Inc. suspended air cargo operations with Miami-based carrier 21 Air. The decision follows a fatal weekend crash involving a Boeing 767-300 freighter at Miami International Airport. Five people died when the aircraft overran the runway during landing. Amazon is supporting the investigation and will halt the partnership pending a review.
The operational pause may impact the Amazon Air logistics network. Separately, Amazon scheduled its annual Prime Big Deal Days sales event for October 6-7. The event aims to increase sales and drive new Prime memberships.
Amazon also joined Netflix and YouTube to establish the Streaming Access and Choice Alliance. This new lobbying group will focus on streaming industry policy.
