Amazon CEO Andy Jassy confirmed in a shareholder letter that Project Kuiper will launch commercially in mid-2026. The satellite internet service aims to provide global broadband to compete with SpaceX’s Starlink. Jassy characterized the project as a very large revenue opportunity for the company.
Amazon will begin the commercial beta phase in April 2026. This initial rollout serves enterprise, telecom, and government clients.
The company must deploy half of its 3,200-satellite constellation to meet regulatory requirements. Amazon faces a July 2026 FCC deadline to maintain its operating license.
