Amazon will launch a new big-box retail store concept, directly challenging competitors such as Walmart. The company revealed plans for a nearly 225,000-square-foot store in Orland Park, Illinois. This location will mirror the supercenter format, offering groceries, household essentials, and general merchandise.
This strategic move signals a significant push into large-scale physical retail. Amazon aims to capture a larger share of the market where the majority of consumer spending occurs.
Separately, TD Cowen raised its price target on Amazon to $315, up from $300. The firm cited strong growth in the company’s high-margin advertising business as the rationale. TD Cowen noted that 63% of advertisers plan to increase their spending by 2026.
