Amazon will equip 500 Delta Air Lines aircraft with its Leo satellite internet service. Installations are scheduled to begin in 2028. The companies did not disclose the financial terms of the agreement.
The partnership intensifies competition with Elon Musk’s SpaceX, which currently provides Starlink service to several major airlines. Delta intends to use the technology to offer faster and more reliable in-flight connectivity.
Delta plans to integrate the satellite service with Amazon Web Services (AWS). This collaboration will provide personalized content to travelers through Amazon’s cloud technology.
