Audible launched a new Standard subscription tier priced at $8.99 per month in the United States. The service is also available in the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Germany, and France. This tier targets casual listeners to counter Spotify’s increasing presence in the audiobook market.
The Standard plan permits users to select one audiobook per month from the full Audible catalog. Subscribers maintain access to selected titles only while the membership remains active. The existing Premium Plus tier costs $14.95 and provides a monthly credit for permanent book ownership.
The new plan includes unlimited listening to a curated selection of Audible Originals. Members also receive access to popular podcasts from Wondery+.
