Amazon’s Ring has terminated its planned partnership with Flock Safety, a firm specializing in AI-powered camera networks and license plate readers for law enforcement.
The decision follows significant public backlash, intensified by a recent Super Bowl commercial that critics argued normalized mass surveillance.
Originally announced in October 2025, the partnership would have enabled police using Flock's platform to request video footage directly from Ring owners.
Ring stated that a comprehensive review determined the integration would require more time and resources than anticipated.
Both companies confirmed the feature never officially launched and no customer data was shared.
