Amazon’s self-driving unit Zoox formed a strategic partnership with Uber to offer autonomous robotaxi rides. The collaboration integrates Zoox’s purpose-built, driverless vehicles directly into the Uber app for eligible trips.

The service will debut in Las Vegas later this year. Operations will expand to Los Angeles in 2027.

This agreement marks the first time Zoox will offer its services on a third-party platform. Zoox will continue to operate its independent ride-hailing service via its proprietary app in both locations.

The execution of the plan is contingent on securing necessary federal approvals for commercial operation.
