Anthropic closed a $65 billion Series H funding round. This investment increases the company’s post-money valuation to $965 billion. Anthropic now ranks as the world’s most valuable private AI company, surpassing OpenAI.
Altimeter Capital, Dragoneer, Greenoaks, and Sequoia Capital led the historic raise. The funding includes $15 billion in previously committed investments from cloud providers. Amazon provided $5 billion of those committed funds.
The company will use the capital to expand computing infrastructure for its Claude models. The investment also funds advanced AI safety research. Anthropic’s annualized revenue recently reached $47 billion. Management is considering a potential initial public offering as early as October 2026.
