Microsoft is reportedly considering legal action against OpenAI and Amazon over a potential breach of their exclusive cloud partnership. The dispute centers on a deal naming Amazon Web Services as the exclusive third-party provider for Frontier.

Frontier is OpenAI’s enterprise platform designed for building AI agents. Microsoft alleges this arrangement violates an agreement requiring OpenAI models to run on the Azure cloud platform.

The Financial Times reports that the conflict hinges on whether OpenAI can offer Frontier via AWS under its existing Microsoft contract. Microsoft spokespeople reiterated that Azure remains the exclusive cloud provider for stateless OpenAI APIs.
