At TwitchCon Europe in Rotterdam, Twitch announced it will roll out "Dual Format" streaming in June 2026. This new feature allows creators to simultaneously broadcast in both traditional horizontal and mobile-optimized vertical formats from a single source, catering to viewers on different devices. Viewers on mobile will see a full-screen vertical layout, while desktop users will see the standard horizontal view.

Alongside the dual-format option, Twitch is expanding 2K (1440p) streaming to all its partners and affiliates, which also launches next month. This upgrade will support higher bitrates for a sharper, more consistent image quality during fast-paced gameplay. These updates are part of a broader effort to enhance the viewing and creating experience on the platform, particularly for its growing mobile audience.
