Amazon expands its logistics network in China. It adds new Global Warehousing and Distribution (GWD) facilities in Shanghai and Ningbo. These facilities join an existing center in Shenzhen. Amazon strategically locates them near major ports to create a robust logistics hub for Chinese sellers.
The expansion streamlines cross-border e-commerce. It allows sellers to store goods in China before shipping them to the U.S. and other markets. Amazon manages the one-stop export process, which includes warehousing, customs clearance, and international shipping. This reduces costs and complexity for its sellers. It also helps Amazon compete with rivals Shein and Temu.
