Amazon.com, Inc. will invest $10 billion to build a hyperscale data center campus in Montgomery County, Missouri. The facility will support the expansion of Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud and AI infrastructure.

The development is expected to create hundreds of permanent jobs. The project will also generate thousands of construction roles in the region.

Amazon shares gained 3% following the announcement. Investors view the spending as a commitment to infrastructure growth for artificial intelligence and cloud computing. The project builds on Amazon's existing operational footprint and employee base in Missouri.
