Captain Brandon Fisher is suing The Boeing Company following the Alaska Airlines door plug blowout in January 2024. Fisher, who was praised for safely landing the aircraft, filed the lawsuit against the manufacturer.
The lawsuit alleges Boeing wrongly attempted to blame the crew for the incident. Fisher claims the manufacturer suggested the aircraft was “improperly maintained or misused” in earlier legal filings.
This legal action follows the NTSB investigation into the incident. The NTSB found that four critical bolts were missing from the door plug panel. This omission occurred after work performed at Boeing's factory.
Four flight attendants had previously sued the manufacturer over the blowout. The pilot’s new legal action renews attention to the safety and quality control issues impacting the aerospace giant.
