BlackRock saw a significant surge in institutional capital flowing into its cryptocurrency products at the start of 2026. During the first week of the new year, clients purchased nearly $500 million worth of Bitcoin and Ethereum through BlackRock’s funds.

On January 5, the firm’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) attracted approximately $372.5 million in inflows alone. This figure represented more than half of the total inflows for all U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded that day.

This activity marks a strong rebound for crypto ETFs following a quieter fourth quarter in 2025. Market observers interpret this substantial accumulation as a signal of institutional confidence and an expectation of strengthening prices for digital assets.
