BP expects to record a non-cash impairment charge of $3 billion to $4.5 billion in its third-quarter results. The write-down is primarily related to assets in its gas and low-carbon energy division. It is the second significant impairment in that division in the past 12 months.
BP expects gas marketing and trading results to be significantly higher than in the previous quarter. It also forecasts realized refining margins of $1.9 billion to $2.1 billion and a notable reduction in net debt.
