Centene Corporation’s subsidiary, Meridian Health Plan, secured a new four-year contract from the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services. The agreement extends Meridian’s participation in the HealthChoice Illinois Medicaid managed care program from January 1, 2027, through 2030.
Illinois selected Meridian as one of six managed care organizations to serve approximately 2.4 million Medicaid-eligible residents. Meridian reported serving more than 596,000 members within the program as of May 2026. CEO Sarah M. London stated the award reflects the company's local partnerships and commitment to high-quality coordinated care.
