Salesforce's Slack has launched Slack Code, a new feature creating dedicated channels for software development teams to collaborate directly with AI coding agents. This functionality is available on all Slack plans and aims to centralize the development process—from idea to deployment—within Slack, reducing the need for developers to switch between different tools.

When a user tags an AI agent, a new "code channel" is automatically created for that specific task. These channels allow human team members to assign tasks, review AI-generated code, and oversee the entire process. Initial partners include AI agents from Anthropic (Claude Code), Cognition (Devin), GitHub (Copilot), and Vercel, integrating various stages of the development lifecycle, from code generation to deployment, directly into the collaborative workspace.
